Here is my other Dodge Charger. I bought this one in 2005. It is a survivor of New Mexico where it spent over 35 years. New Mexico is near the west coast and is a dry state, the car therefore the car suffers no rust. I believe the paint is the original paint. It looks great from 10ft, but on close inspection it has patches of fading, a few stone chips and a bit of microblistering. Personally I think the paint is absolutely fine for a driver, though it certainly won't win shows. Though it is a nice straight car if I ever decide to paint it. It is a numbers matching big block car.
It has been reliable since I bought it. The only real issue I had with it was that the radiator failed. I broke down right in the middle of Maidenhead town centre and was stranded for a few hours. Hundreds of people took photos and passed comments. Even people who didn't know what a charger is were fascinated.
I got the radiator recored and since then the cooling system has run flawlessly. I also had an electrician do a few bits wiring and fit new horns.
When I bought the car the floors had a bit of surface rust. I could have put new carpet straight on top but I decided to do a proper job and sand, prep and paint it all. The result was really good tho the colour isn't factory. New carpet went down on top of the floors which was easier than I thought.
I redid the gauges with white dials and orange needles and resprayed the entire dash. The only thing it needs now is a dash cap (to go over the dash pad) or just a whole new dash pad.
SERPS: This is a Dodge Charger. My other car is a General Lee based in Maidenhead.
